A very important group of garden roses that evolved early this century in England and are descendants of the Musk Rose from which they received their fragrance and vigor. Most were bred the first half of this century with the exception of 'Red Ballerina' by Harkness in 1978. Heirloom Roses is the only nursery to introduce new hybrid musk roses as we feel they have so much to offer. Hybrid musks bear graceful blooms of delicate pink, apricot, red and yellow, are highly scented and blossom in great profusion. Hybrid Musks have beautiful foliage and make excellent garden shrubs. Peter Beales says these are the most useful of shrubs having a long flowering season and agreeable habits of growth. Hardy zones 6-10, with some hardier. May be grown in zone 5 with winter protection.
