I bought blush hip when I know nothing about Roses, No special care and not even water that much, it tastes care itself, no protection for winter, this is the second year. Peyton CO. Crazy windy in winter, I am so surprised it survive.
I’m in zone 8b. It’s hot and humid with regular hundred degree days. The disease pressure, especially black spot is very high. This is the only rose that I can water like a plant (Meaning foliage getting wet doesn’t matter) and there’s never been a trace of disease. I grew this rose in far too much shade and much less than optimal growing conditions and it grew wonderfully without ever having an issue. It’s one of the toughest roses Ive ever had the pleasure of growing.
I have been laid up the last few years and unable to properly garden. This is now a 6 year old bush that had profuse blooms this year
I am in zone 5, but overlooking a river, with strong, cold winter winds, I find plants suited for zone 4 more reliably hardy for me. This rose has it all - beautiful roses, very fragrant, and super hardy, rarely any winter die back. It's about 5 ft tall now, and covered in fragrant pink blooms. Rarely bothered by insects or disease, it does sucker but that's fine with me, it just gets bigger and better every year.
