Thrilled with this rose

I received this rose in good condition, far better than anything from David Austen, and I haven’t had the challenges I experience with those roses. My Chuckles went happily into her bed and within days was showing new leaves. I have had her for a month now and she is covered in leaves and cheerfully growing. I was so pleased, I have ordered another rose of another cultivar. Chuckles was my first rose from this breeder.

This baby still shining despite a heatwave

Boston never used to be heatwave country, but now we are, with waves of high heat through summer. I was anxious about my Chuckles arriving today, the hottest day of summer so far, especially after a long journey. I unpacked her and she is just gorgeous, strong green limbs, tiny little leaves (my David Austen’s haven’t arrived as beautifully packaged or in such mint condition in far cooler weather). We went straight to the kitchen so she could have a much needed drink. She is standing on a counter out of the heat, and tomorrow when temps drop 20 degrees, we’ll go out, me with a shovel and compost and this little lady will discover her new home. I am so thrilled with the loving care she clearly had before making her way to Massachusetts.

Great results so far!

I was a little concerned when I unboxed this rose with just a couple little leaves on it, but after only a few weeks it's gone like gangbusters! It's already full of buds and looks like it will be a showstopper in my front yard!

Long lasting blooms

Of all the Buck roses I have (28 currently), this one makes me the happiest! The blooms last a really long time and there have been several in the few months since I planted it. It is cheery and beautiful and I'm so glad I gave it a prominent spot where I can see it whenever I go in or out of the house. Did I mention it's on the North side of my home where it receives lots of shade and for which it pays no heed? What else could someone want?
