Deep Secret truly is hiding something. Her nearly black buds produce one of the darkest reds of all red roses. Deep Secret produces large blooms of 24-40 petals with an outstanding fragrance. Her deep crimson flowers stand sharply against a backdrop of dark, glossy green foliage on this continually blooming plant. We recommend Deep Secret for the cut flower garden or to grow in pots.

I thought Black Lady was the most beautiful red rose of all time, but Deep Secret is giving her some competition this year, and I've only had her for a few months! As soon as I stuck this little beauty in the pot, she was flush with big, leathery deep red foliage and covered in big, fat, black buds! The flowers are just stunning to behold, with two or three whorls of petals in the center of each one. I posted the unfurling of just one of these complex flowers on Instagram and everyone was dying to know what kind of rose she was! Although the blooms don't last quite as long as good old Mister Lincoln in the vase, if you leave them on the plant, you can expect HUGE 5-6" fragrant, blood-red flowers for at least a week, with a heady, intoxicating fragrance to boot! I guess I'm allowed to have two favorite red roses, right? Maybe three, if we add in Velvet Fragrance, too??? We are in Zone 10a (San Diego, CA).
I just received and planted this rose about the 3rd week of June. Now end of July and it has bloomed twice. The soil I planted it in wasn’t good so amended with mushroom compost. Standing up well to our near 100 degree days. The blooms are a beautiful deep red and very fragrant. I have it mulched well and hope it will do well in our Missouri winters.
My idea of a perfect rose (pretty strong feeling for a pink rose lover!)
I have a photo of this rose on my phone so I can see it every day.
I purchased deep secret about three months ago and i am just getting four blooms! I love her she is so beautiful!
