I gave this rose to a friend who recently lost her daughter, Laura, as a living memorial. She was deeply moved by this living memorial and has planted it right outside her front door. I hope it will bloom for her and give her comfort.
I got the first bloom about 4 weeks after planting it in the ground and it was bright and big and beautiful! Absolutely STUNNING!
This rose bloomed within the first 30 days. I worried it would not do well in the Arkansas humidity. It has grown and bloomed vigorously!
This is an exquisite rose, though a little fragile.
It doesn't grow as fast or robustly of other of my roses from Heirloom, but when I do get roses, they're absolutely perfect. Extraordinarily beautiful, with a lovely scent.
In the spring/summer I do spritz with neem oil to keep away the mildew, aphids, and Japanese beetles. The first year, I did lose almost all of the plant to mildew, but the neem oil cured it, and it popped back. Had a rough spring this year, but is holding its own.
The extra care is worth it for such a beautiful rose.
