I wasn’t sure what to expect from this rose. I bought it out of curiosity because it was unique and an antique. It sat in a raised bed for about 6 months waiting on a pillar to be built. Planted this spring and it bloomed so beautifully! The flowers are like large glowing delicate cellophane. Gorgeous! It has a wonderful fragrance. I can’t wait for it to scramble over the pillar and low retaining wall. It has been blooming now for about a month. I can see it’s happy flowers from my upstairs window and it makes me so happy.
This rose seems to be the most tolerant and hearty. The scent is intoxicating and I love the history of it. Definitely my favorite rose of the 30+ I currently have.
This is my favorite rose I grow. The smell is strong and intoxicating, like rose water. This rose is very strong and drought resistant here in zone 9b. I don’t water it much, even in our 100 plus dry summer. It is only a couple years old and it was in bloom from the beginning of March to mid June.
Most unique rose I own out of around 50 roses. Pairs so well with peach, lavenders, creams and pale colors. Strong and healthy, Hardy rose. Seems to be pest and disease resistant One of my favorites. Color is like a fantastic dark wine.
