I have had "Radio Times" in my rose bed around the patio for about 10 years, and it's still going strong. I got it originally to remember my dad who was an early ham radio operator (W8PRR) in Cinti. I'm in Naperville, a suburb of Chicago Zone 4b or 5 depending on whom you ask. I lost a number of roses over the last winter, but this one keeps on broadcasting. It doesn't receive any special treatment to protect it over the cold winters. It is subject to black spot more than I would like and the beetles love it too, but it is a beautiful english rose. This is one to consider adding to your garden. Hardier than Graham Thomas, more like Abraham Darby which is also still going strong. It doesn't seem David Austin is offering this one anymore.
I ordered RADIO TIMES several years ago, and it is still a favorite of mine. I LOOK FOR BEAUTY, CHECK, FRAGRANCE, CHECK, DISEASE RESISTANCE, CHECK, FRAGRANCE (AGAIN), CHECK, HOW IT HOLDS UP IN THE WEATHER heat, drought, rain, wind, temperature, snow, subzero temperature, humidity, bloom time and length, BIG CHECKS ON ALL OF THESE. I WOULD LOVE TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE, OR TWO, AND MAY DO SO IN THE COMING YEAR. I BELIEVE RADIO TIMES IS A MUST FOR EVER AND ALL GARDENS.
