This has become my new favorite. It is very disease resistant and does very well in California central valley summer. The blooms last well over a week for me and it has the most interesting bloom and color. I love that it changes from orange to more pink as it ages. It keeps it interesting. It also last really long in a vase.
In its second growing season Crazy Love put out a nice thick cane. This third year it should put on some size, so I can hardly wait to enjoy more of its fascinating blooms.
I purchased my Crazy Love Rose from a local Nursery. Mine is also Own Root. The rose was very small & thought at 2 years to get tall. I planted it in mid April in my North Mississippi garden. By August the rose was 8 feet tall and about 5 bloom. The blooms are very full copper orange in my garden. It is now Mid November & the rose is still producing blooms. We did have a couple of killing frosts but my roses don’t succumb until a few very hard freezes. This one is gorgeous. And I suppose at 8’ tall it can be a climber. I will probably leave it along in Spring until I see more maturity and lateral branching.
My Crazy Love has been incredibly healthy growing in a zone 6 spot that's only sunny until early afternoon. Leaves clean and shiny even when the blackspot hits many of my other roses, and the blooms are so beautiful! The colors are such a warm blend with a real old fashioned look of many petals. There is a pleasing, pretty fragrance. I'm quite impressed with how well she is growing and have plans to add more Crazy Loves to another bed.
