  • Other Details
  • Attention lovers of dark roses! Black Beauty® is an outstanding rose for gardeners in search of the blackest of blooms. She was introduced by Delbard of France in 1973 and begins ebony black in the bud stage and slowly opens to reveal a rich, scarlet bloom with darker reverse petals. She has a mild fragrance and will bloom continuously throughout the season. Black Beauty® makes a lovely cut rose and grows well in beds, borders, and pots.

Grows well!

This rose has grown extremely well and I've only had it a month or so. It has really nice looking buds already! Can't wait to see it bloom. So far this one does not have black spot!

Black Beauty Truly Has WOW Factor!

Based on the description, I expected Black Beauty to grow to maybe 4 ft high or so. However - this rose bush has grown into a monster! I planted it in front of my house and it grows so tall, I have to clip the top sometimes because its reaching up to the soffits! So - that must be like 7 ft high or so? If I didn't regularly prune it, I'm sure it would grow twice as wide at least too.

So - keep that in mind when ordering this rose! Plant it in an open spot and let her stretch out. You will be rewarded with gorgeous blooms over and over again.

It doesn't have much of a fragrance, but the beauty makes up for it. You see these rather small black rose buds and then when it opens, you get a nice big bloom with the perfect crimson red color that for sure gets noticed! I love my Black Beauty Monster Rose! I wish I could attach photos for this review!
