Planted at the end of August and now several big blooms, (about 6”) in early November. Zone 6b, KC area
And worthy of the name “Buxom”! Wow! What a stunner! Her buds are gorgeous even early on, and watching them open is a spectacle. Wonderful on the bush or as a cut rose, a single bloom is elegant in a tall bud vase. And the fragrance! My husband, who enjoys comparing fragrances, rates this only behind our Firefighter and our twenty year old unidentified yellow rose. This lady is truly a winner!
I grow roses in 7B, Coastal Plain Region of NC.
Just planted a couple of months ago- so far there haven't been many blooms, but the ones that have developed are picture-perfect. Gorgeous pink shades that almost shimmer. I'm very glad I got this one.

I purchased my first Buxom Beauty about 6 years ago for my Zone 6b garden. The first two seasons, with very mild Winters, it was Absolutely Gorgeous with enormous magenta blooms. I knew my mother would love it so I sent one to her for her Idaho Zone 6b garden. By my third season she started having problems because the previous Winter was brutally cold (Polar Vortex). I knew the cold was coming, I surrounded her with straw — big mistake! She developed horrible black spot and nothing I did was going to bring her back. So I ordered a new one from HR. Again had a very cold snap during the Winter and she never gave me a single flower. I have over 40 roses and have been growing roses for 30 years. Sadly I had to give up on the Beauty. Now to my mother’s garden... she also had a snap of below zero temps one Winter and tried all she could to save the Beauty... to no avail. Buxom Beauty is listed for as low as Zone 5... I humbly disagree based on my and my mother’s experience in our Zone 6b gardens. I gave her five stars because in the right climate she is a superstar.
