A heavily petaled rose, Général Washington, was bred in France in the 1860s and is a beautiful form of a Hybrid Perpetual rose. He can be grown as a Shrub or short Climber reaching heights of up to 5-8’ depending on climate. His 4” quartered blooms are bright magenta to red and offer a moderate fragrance His old world charm is a delight for both heirloom rose lovers and historians. Général Washington has a high resistance to disease and is a favorite of pollinators. This is a great choice for gardens in zones 6-8.
