  • Other Details
  • A lovely, very fragrant rose, Lemon Spice is bright yellow and loves the heat of warmer zones. Long pointed buds open into large, high centered, fully 5", double blooms with a petal count of 25+. The blooms are set against a background of dark, leathery green foliage on a continually blooming plant. Makes an excellent cut rose and can tolerate dappled shade as she seems to make her own sunshine! A cheery addition to any garden!

Beautiful feminine rosey...

I am growing roses in zone 6b. Lemon Spice rose is a very hearty bush. It's blooms are a wonderful shade of yellow. It is doing great after winter, even growing in partial shade. The fragrance is very nice. I would recommend you get one too.

Fabulous fragrance and constant blooms

This is the most strongly fragranced rose. The fragrance is spicy. Flowers are beautiful soft yellow that ages to almost white in hot weather. It blooms continuously and has almost zero thorns. It had thorns on the initial canes but new growth throughout season has zero thorns making it a dream to collect long stem roses to bring inside. Highly recommended in hot dry climates. The petals will crisp a bit in temps over 90 but fragrance is always there.

Stronger and Stronger

I wrote an earlier review about the fragrance of Lemon Spice, but I wanted to let people know that as the bushes age, they strengthen and grow taller. Last summer, I was unable to photograph many blooms on my two bushes because they soared well above my head in midsummer. The fragrance is still intense, and the blooms are gorgeous to a former rose competitor.

The reason I came to Heirloom!

I sniffed this beauty at the Huntington Library and Garden in So. Cal, and knew immediately I had to have it. Lo and behold, I found it with Heirloom and I have been hooked ever since. I hate to play favorites but the scent is truly outstanding, immediately puts me in a good mood! If fragrance is your thing (it is mine) you will treasure this one
