FAN FAVORITE! The large, many petaled, old-fashioned, 5" blooms with 50+ petals are a blend of several shades of apricot and peach. Polka®’s old-rose fragrance perfumes the air through the extended bloom season with an abundance of blooms set against leathery, light green foliage. She has strong disease resistance and is a favorite of the staff at Heirloom Roses!

Still Deciding

Polka was my first purchase from HR in July of 2023. I live in Central Oregon, high desert, zone 5b and so we get very severe weather. Harsh winters and very hot and dry summers with the potential for a frost any time of year although no killing frosts till October usually. I put her next to a trellis my husband built on the NE side of the house…I think this was a mistake. I got no blooms the first year and this year ( second year) I have only gotten two blooms all summer and she has barely grown at all in height since I received her last summer. I am really debating moving her to a location with more sun but then she wouldn’t have anything to climb. The blooms I did get were magnificent and smelt amazing. I’m not sure if this is my mistake or she just takes awhile to establish. Time will tell.

Spectacular Polka

I live in zone 9 and bought 4 roses for myself for my birthday last September. My Polka was full of buds and has flowered on and off throughout summer. I cannot wait until Polka is climbing high on our fence. I only select roses that are good for cutting, have some fragrance and are repeat or continual flowering.

My very first climber - lovely!

Beautiful blooms and lush foliage in my zone 10 garden in Southern California. I moved Polka to a sunny corner pot and it’s very happy!.

Vigorous plant, sweet ruffled bloom

Best performing of my roses, vigorous growth at year two in PNW. Love the fragrant ongoing large blooms. Seem to Last well as cut flowers. fragrance is sweet, and persistent. It’s not as intoxicating as my gold standard for fragrance, Dolly Parton, but quite lovely. 5/5 in the top of the roses I have planted. Starts more apricot colored and then fades to paler peach/pink tone.

A favorite

Polka thrives in a small border in competition with alstroemeria, geranium and smaller roses. She puts out long branches with up to six blooms on the end, making a whole bouquet with just one branch. Her color and scalloped petals are happiness itself. One of my favorites.
