We are no longer growing this rose. We maintain this listing for our customer's reference purposes.
David Austin named this for its resemblance to `Apothecary's Rose' (Rosa gallica `Officinalis') with the added benefit of repeat blooming. Mr. Austin says that more than one old-rose expert has been deceived by its likeness. Seldom do we get so close a replication of an old rose that adds the repeat blooming factor. The large semi-double blooms are light, crimson-red opening flat to show off the magnificent centers of rich golden stamens. A profusely blooming, vigorous, bushy plant.
