  • Lady Of Shalott (pronounced shuh·lot) is prized by rose lovers and considered to be one of the best David Austin Roses for her remarkable flower performance and disease resistance. Her young buds of vibrant, orange-red open to form chalice-shaped flowers filled with loosely arranged petals of salmon pink with a golden-yellow reverse. The flowers are deliciously fragrant with the scent of warm tea and hints of spiced apples and cloves. Lady of Shalott quickly forms a large, bushy shrub with slightly arching stems and mid-green foliage. She is a must-have for the cutting garden and thrives in zones 4-11! If you had to pick just one David Austin Rose, this might be the one!

This thing is a grower!

I’m so in love with this rose. Year one and it has shot up on my archway. I can’t wait until it fills the entire thing!

Gorgeous rose with sticking color and form of blossoms

I have this climbing on a dusty blue arch with Geschwind’s Orden on the other side. When it blooms, it takes your breath away. The color of the blossoms is like no other and the shape and form are absolutely perfect. It grew quickly to cover one side of the arch and bloomed the first year. I simply love this rose!

3rd year is the charm!

This is my 3rd year with Lady Of Shalott, and the growth is very vigorous this year. Year 2 saw lots of sawfly damage, so I’m hoping that doesn’t happen this year. It got a good prune in early Spring, lots of compost, and a dose of fertilizer, and it has taken off with tons of new growth. We had a decent number of blooms last year, but this year it looks healthier and more productive. Can’t wait to see what it does!
