She has a beautifully cupped form with a neat outer ring of petals enclosing an informal group of petals within that exude a rich, lemon fragrance that becomes stronger with age. The Poet’s Wife forms a naturally arching shrub that is perfect for use in a traditional rose border or for blending with other plants in a mixed border. We recommend her also for cutting gardens and pots. Expect her to grow to about 4’ by 4’.

Hearty Rose.

Poet's Wife arrived 6 weeks ago with only two leaves! Planted in a large conainer. This rose has TAKEN OFF! Rose has had probably 20 blooms so far. They tend to be small and not as yellow as shown in photos, but plant is very young and think this will change as bush matures. It is a great addition. It is on one side of walkway to back door and Morning Has Broken on the other...greeting visitors with many yellow fragrant blooms.

The smell, the beautiful yellow color and the vigorous growth in year one….and double in year two is a showstopper!

Blown Away

I purchased this rose in 2024. In its first year, this rose produced quite an amount of flowers that a second or third-year plant would have produced. Then in its second year, it produced over 50 blooms in the spring! I love how it continuously blooms throughout the growing season. The fragrance is not as strong as I expected, but still, it is pleasant.
