I love the reverse coloring on this rose. It's also been very resilient to various "threats" in the garden. Over the winter it got cold and wet and most of the canes died, but it was still alive at the base and put out a new shoot. The new growth got stepped on by my dog, but it put out another shoot. THEN that shoot got de-leafed by rabbits, but it's still alive and coming back again. Unkillable.
What a beautiful color perfectly formed buds. Smells lovely too here in zone 8B Central Texas.
I ordered this from Heirloom because it was on sale, mistakenly thinking it was a climber. Its flowers were show-stoppers! I moved it away from a trellis to a location near the front of the bed but it got eaten by rabbits. I’m ordering it again because of the blooms. I will give it some protection from rabbits if need be.those blossoms have a peachy golden color on one side with a blush apricot rose on the other. They’re huge. Can’t live without this one!
Bought this rose nearly 1,5 years ago.
The last winter was very cold for a few more days.
Nearly -20 C and frozen over weeks.
But she is still alive and enjoys with wonderful blooms in special shades.
Uncommon.
Fragance could be stronger, but we never get all we want .... :)
