Gruss An Aachen is named for the town in Germany where Charlemagne held court. He is a vigorous, compact, bushy, rounded shrub which typically grows 2' tall with a slightly larger spread. His clusters of fragrant, double, 3” flowers open in a delightful, salmon-pink color and then mature to creamy white. He will bloom in May with good repeat blooms throughout the summer. With Gruss An Aachen, you can expect small, dark green foliage and minimal thorns.

I had a few of these in zone 10. Even in the very deep shade of a north side wall, and as other plants grew up and blocked any direct sun, I’d get a couple of perfect blooms. Nice dark green foliage. Given morning sun I’d get more blooms. Amazing petite rose.
This rose is a small bush in my zone 5 garden. The flowers are perfection in pale ivory-buff with beautiful form, covering the top of the bush completely. Stunning!
