Perfect Red Rose

I got this rose by mistake,it was supposed to be Plum Perfect., but so thankful I did. It is gorgeous and a sterling performer all summer in Hot Humid Georgia. I have it in a large container by my back door and I just smell and admire it every day. It looks like dark red velvet as it opens up and fades to a lovely fushia Gets a little BS like all roses do but nothing to slow it down and flowers all summer. It has special meaning for me as my husband was in congestive heart failure when it arrived and at that time $5 was donated to The American Heart Association. So far so good

Out of 5 different Heirloom roses ordered this one arrived the strongest (I’m assuming because it’s not as popular/ reviewed as the others). The first leaves were dark reddish purple, but now that it’s established the leaves are lush green with red edges, very unique! It hasn’t bloomed yet, but I’m confident it’s going to thrive in 9b!

The others were inflicted with thrips pretty early on.. all except this bad boy. It seems to be disease resistant so far. I can’t wait to see the blooms on it!
