Queen of Denmark, in my opinion, is the all-time masterpiece of rose breeding. It has never been surpassed. The shrubby shape has graceful, arching, cascading stems. The beautiful blue-green leaves remain untouched by disease, even in humid conditions. It is mega-hardy. And the fragrant flowers are by far the finest and most beautiful I have ever had the privilege of growing. Yeah, a privelege. It was an honor to care for something so stunnungly, breathtakingly beautiful. It blooms on last year's canes, so don' t make the mistake of chopping it down in the spring to control its size. If you're ever lucky enough to see a mature Queen of Denmark shrub in bloom, you will have an out-of-body experience and you will never, ever complain about a rose that blooms only once.

Outstanding addition to the garden

I had Queen of Denmark in my Michigan garden. It was my favorite rose. The canes were long and spireing. I am not sure how tall it could have gotten, I had no idea it had a climbing rose habit. I had to more or less train it to be a shrub rose. It had armloads of buds bourne on short stems in spring. I recommend no later than midsummer pruning to ensure a good quantity of blossoms. The fragrance was strong old garden rose. You will never see the center of the rose, it is gorgeous. Only bummer is its once blooming! other than that, it's a 10!

Love this one!

This is also known as "Konigen Von Danemark" and I was very pleased with this one as you will be too. Great fragrance, disease free, only once blooming, but if you love historical roses, you gotta get this one for your collection!
