A beautiful bloom, exactly as the picture on this site shows. Planted one day after receiving the order, and not only this bloom, but four more buds will be opening within the next two weeks. I live in Florida, and we have had swings of 31 to 80 degrees this winter. This rose never had a problem.
I am hoping it will do well through our summer temps as well. It is potted on my screened porch, open to all the weather.
In my previous 5-star review, I reported how a severely icy,
cold winter turned the stems of my Irish Hope rose black and soggy, which made me think it was dead.. The following spring I had to order a replacement because the warranty had expired, but I was delighted when my "dead" rose completely recovered and bloomed, leaving me with two beautiful rose bushes. Then another surprise two years ago, That spring I discovered another Irish Hope Rose coming up next to the second one! Perhaps this happened because I have Heirloom own-root roses, and perhaps the roots from number two crept underground to make number 3. All three bushes are grouped together, are long-blooming and have a lovely fragrance. Although I first bought Irish Hope in honor of my part-Irish ancestry, but later on I realized I had received more than I had initially hoped for. Thank you, Heirloom Roses.
Great yellow rose that I purchased several years ago. It is a vigorous grower and floriferous. It's in nearly constant bloom or bud and smells great. As a floribunda, I didn't expect it to be such a large plant. It's in a 16 inch pot and nearly seven feet tall. It bloomed during the recent heat wave (high 90s to over 100) without a pause where other roses were drooping.
I ordered the Irish Hope rose in honor of my beloved Irish Setter Hope who passed last June. This beautiful rose rewarded me with a bloom on the anniversary of her passing. How could I, a newbie to roses, ask for more? Beautiful and fragrant and she's just getting started!
