  • Other Details
  • In 1997 'New Dawn™' was voted the most popular rose in the world at the 11th World Convention of Rose Societies, and she deserves it. She produces silvery, blush-pink, 3" full flowers with 35-40 petals on a great, repeat blooming plant. New Dawn™ is versatile enough to be grown as a Shrub or a Climber. She is a prolific repeat bloomer with a delightful, strong fragrance. New Dawn™ can tolerate colder temps down to zone 4 and also doesn’t mind dappled shade. A win all around!

Can't kill it with an axe

New Dawn, the first plant to ever be patented, is my favorite rose. I first had one that lived to be about 10 years old; inexplicably, it died, so I replaced it. I believe this was due to some extreme summers and winters here in Zone 7b. The next one made it about 15 years before it was overtaken by Rose Rosette disease. Undeterred, I got another one. It took off and grew by leaps and bounds. The first flush of blooms is mind-blowing. It repeats, though a bit less, at least two more times. If you are looking for something that will take your breath away, look no further than New Dawn.

Hardy Hardy little Rose

I bought this rose several years ago as a Bare Root. This has to one of the most hardy little bushes I have ever had. The fragrance is so nice, it puts up with Hot Sun, no feedings on time or forgotten all together, weeds at base, and she keeps on blooming no matter what, while I was sick. I plan on moving, it if I can, to a much better spot and taking better care. The pink color gets a little darker over time. I am also going to train it as a bush instead of a climber. Either way a super little rose and well worth the money.

Can't go Wrong!

I've had this rose for 30 years now and it's a steady performer, although I get one huge flush of blooms early and then very sporadic but nothing like that first huge flush. It's the type of rose you're going to take pictures under or near though, just such a beautiful pale pink. Thorny thick canes, I get a lighter fragrance than mentioned, and it's a prolific climber. This is just one bush in the picture.
