What a gorgeous beauty of a rose! I just love her! She smells like heaven and looks like an angel
We officially live in zone 7b, but in the winters we often dip into temperature range more consistent with zone 6. When I purchase roses, I therefore usually buy only roses hardy to zone 6 or below. That said, this rose was given to me as a get-well gift, and I knew nothing about it. When I first put it in the ground, probably March 2024, it couldn't have been more than 12 or at most 18 inches tall. We are now in October 2024, just 6 months after planting, and it is at least 6 FEET tall, maybe more, with sturdy canes that pump out blossoms that are breathtakingly gorgeous with a fragrance that fills a room. It is disease-free. Most of the time Princess Charlene has been in the ground, I have been recuperating from surgery, so she hasn't received the usual attention I would shower on my roses, but she has thrived. I strongly recommend this rose.
My little Princess Charlene has only been in the ground for 3 1/2 months and yet amazingly she has shot up over 3 1/2 feet!
She's produced at least a dozen light apricot and soft ballet pink blossoms. I've cut and filled a small jelly jar twice with her blooms. Remember...she's only been in the ground since May of the year!
Out of the 13 roses I ordered to start my new rose garden in central Oregon, she has become my favorite. I ordered her for our zone, color and size, but I had no idea she would blossom and bloom her way into my heart in such a short time. She's disease free with beautiful dark green foliage, sturdy new canes, and sweet perfect little buds and blossoms.
I can't wait to watch her grow and I really can't wait for her fragrance to come in!
This rose is so beautiful! It just glows! The blooms are huge and so fragrant! The shrub is sturdy, upright, unfazed by rain. It never has any black spot or mildew in zone 8b PNW. It’s only in its 2nd year in my garden. So far about 3 ft tall and 1 1/2 feet wide. I think it’s a keeper!
