This compost is dark and rich looking with a very pleasant smell not really minty but earthy and fresh. I used a small amount mixed in with potting soil and then as suggested used mychorrizae around the roots and then filled in around the rose and topped with a generous amount of this mint compost. My roses are beautiful, healthy and blooming.
My poor roses were literally being eaten alive. The barely-still-there leaves were before composting and fertilizing with thr fish fertilizer. The new growth is in the month since. No other changes, and not a single hole eaten through since. Amazing.
Ordered several bags of this mint compost and I'm a big fan! The roses seem to appreciate it as well.
During the past few years, I have purchased over 75 beautiful roses from the most reliable nursery, Heirloom Roses. They are my only supplier of healthy, gorgeous roses and now that they offer perrineals will be my first choice in adding more beauty to my gardens.
