All Dressed Up arrived in the Texas heat six weeks ago today! She is SO healthy and thriving! Wish all rose bushes were this robust. And her fragrance….a touch of heaven!
As the earth heats I am always looking for roses that can make it in my front yard where the sun and heat can be pretty extreme in the summer months. I have decided to plant more All Dressed Up. Not only do they give you a gorgeous vase full of roses but they tolerate the hot days. I’m not in Texas or the Central Valley of CA but above San Francisco can have some pretty hot weather and we get no rain from June to October or November. All Dressed Up has done really well. I have it next to Julia Child which has done extremely well in our hot summers. I had a little trouble with pruning All Dressed Up but after reading how to prune grandiflora all went well.
I am in love with this rose. It is amazing even though I just purchased I few months ago but she is giving me a lot of flowers and it looks wonderful in the pot.
All Dressed Up is fast becoming one of my favorite roses in my garden. The foliage has excellent health and it is loaded with true pink blooms which are so fragrant. For now, she is in a pot as I have yet to decide exactly where I want her. She will winter well in my garage until next spring.
