I've already given a review for this rose once because I lost the 1st one and Heirloom replaced it. Now I'm here again to sing the praises of the replacement plant which is in its 2nd year. All my roses were hit pretty hard this last winter but they have all bounced back and are doing exceptionally well. Tangerine skies has doubled in size and puts out the most gorgeous blooms. The color is like a sunset in a flower... it glows. I have 3 favorites in my garden of over 30 and this is one of them! The others -another arborose, Quicksilver, and First Prize.
I LOVE this rose! I bought 2 that are thriving in their 3rd season. They have multiple buds and blooms (when I can keep the squirrels from eating the buds...) and they are both about 6 feet tall with multiple canes. When I walk underneath our arbor, all I can do is smile as I catch the fresh fragrance. The color is florescent in the sun.
I bought two Tangerine Skies, not realizing they were climbers, for two large pots that frame a view from our back patio. The plants I buy for these pots I usually think of as disposable, since they don't survive the winter in the exposed pots. These roses were so beautiful and had such long-stems, we decided to 'save' them and put them on either side of an arbor/gate we had recently installed. In their third year now, they are almost 7 feet tall, and bloom beautifully, sending stout new canes from the roots. They are very fragrant with a classic rose scent which delights when working nearby. They come out a true tangerine orange, then age to a multicolor bloom. It's almost as if the color components separate to pink, orange and yellow, all in the same bloom. These roses always elicit compliments from neighbors and passers-by. An excellent climbing rose!
I received a small and very dainty specimen of this plant first. It didn't make it in my garden and heirloom Roses was good to their word and replaced it with a much more substantial plant. The new plant is doing remarkably well and measures approximately three foot tall in the first season. The flowers are all the colors of a sunset or sunrise sky. I am extremely pleased with my new plant, and it's performance. Thank you Heirloom roses for replacing it!
