Introduced in 1937, Ballerina is a very profusely blooming rose of restrained habit. Expect hundreds of small, 2”, pink, single blooms with a white eye borne in huge clusters to drench this bush in blossoms. She is a pollinator favorite, produces beautiful hips, grows well in pots or beds, emits a sweet honey fragrance, and makes an excellent cut flower. Truly an overachiever!

Very Healthy Rose

First year Spring planting resulted in a healthy 2’ x 3’ rose with several blooms. The bees loved it all Summer and Fall. Winter toasted the canes a bit but it appears to be surging back strong.

Sweet little rose

Ballerina was a Fall planting about 3 weeks ago. She had only a couple of leaves but is now fully leaved out. No blooms yet probably because of an 8 day rainy and cool period. She's healthy and growing quickly.

Tough girl!

I had a Ballerina years ago but ended up in too much shade. She lasted for many years. I looked for a long time to replace her and was not able to locate her. I was so excited to find her again and ordered her right away. Has leafed out beautifully and already has many buds - can't wait to see them!

Delicate Perfection

I love this rose. It’s so tiny yet perfectly formed. The dark pink edges and white centers. A single cluster of blooms looks gorgeous when paired with a hybrid tea rose in a vase. Lovely!

Beautiful performer - keeps going in tough times

I had a Ballerina for over 25 yrs in Chicago, she was a joy just outside my back door. I had her in dappled shade. I never fertilized or watered her, even in the worst 90 degree days. She never skipped a beat. Just some deadheading, and more blooms would come, and I left enough of those little orange hips on her for winter interest. Her canes would reach 8 to 9 feet. I would never stake her, just let her arch and sway in the breeze. The bees would be very busy around her. In the fall I would pitch fallen apples under her. This rose started my love affair with Heirloom Roses. I had to have her now in Tenn. zone 6b. She is still small for the first year, but bloomed in a few clusters. What else can you say when a rose can make you so happy.
