A lover of roses herself, Barbra approves of her namesake rose with the long, shapely pointed buds opening into fully double, classic blooms against glossy, green foliage. Her color is a deep lavender-blushed purple and she is a favorite of butterflies. The old rose, citrus fragrance from just one stem can fill an entire room with her perfume. Whether you love Barbra, purple roses, or citrus-scented roses, there are plenty of reasons to add this beauty to your garden.

Beautiful color, exquisite scent

This rose's scent is divine. She's not a deep purple here in Coastal Texas; more of a pink-lilac that's somewhat represented by the photos. It's a lovely color that's very eye catching and her scent perfumes the yard wonderfully. I had a few problems the first year with black spot, but I didn't have any this year. Overall, very happy with this beauty.

Spring has Sprung

This rose (Barbara is a Diva) did nothing for me last year, some new leaves that got scorched in our unusually hot summer in San Diego. … but this year is different, lots of new beautiful and healthy growth; two plump buds (more to follow in sure) that I can see. I’m so excited and like a crazy woman I do my rounds every afternoon talking to each rose bush. Looking them over (insects and decease), watching for any changes that may have occurred since the day before.
Spring looks promising, look forward to the color and the fragrance.

Lovely rose...if not a bit slow

I've only had this rose for a few months this season. It has pushed out one glorious and fragrant bloom. But not a stitch of new growth. No new buds anywhere...nothing. It is also a blackspot magnet and needs TLC. I'm okay with this, but I wish I had known how SLOW this one was to grow. All the other 42 own-root roses took off within a few weeks. This one? Nada. I think it will in time, but if you are getting it--just know that it might grow at her own pace. I mean, it IS Barbra Streisand, after all. She always calls the shots.

My Favorite Rose!

I am new to planting roses, and I have actually planted 27 new roses from Heirloom. The Streisand rose was the first to bloom and it was gorgeous. Both Streisand rose bushes bloomed when most others have not. Can’t wait until Heirloom grows some more! My favorite rose!

Best Smell

One of my very favorite roses! The fragrance will not disappoint. Blooms are beautiful and the color is, also. Leaves are as described. I’m in Zone 9 and she is thriving. I am sometimes disappointed with the rating for cutting - not with this one. Highly recommend.
