The best culinary rose

Grew this in California and had to leave it behind when I retired. So deeply scented-- if you lick the petals after a rain it is like drinking rose water. And to make the best rose syrup, just make a simple syrup and then off the heat add a handful of petals-- two or three blossoms should do it. Deep rose colored wonderfully flavored syrup. Try rose soda floats (sparkling water, syrup, and ice cream. ) Or infuse cream for creme brûlée! PLEASE root this again soon. I need it in Philly!!

Mom's Favorite

Mom grew these beautiful fragrant roses in San Antonio TX for years in the 1960s- 1970s. I was just a kid, so I don't know how difficult they were to manage, but I don't remember seeing mom working too hard on them. Beautiful fragrance!

I fell in love ...

This rose grew in my garden in Virginia; it became my favorite red climber. In fact, it was the only red climber that performed well in Arlington ... vigorous with no rust, no mildew. It was exceptionally lovely on the fence in the back garden where a deep purple clematis also grew. I'm patiently waiting for it to be back in stock so I can have it in my garden in Arizona.
