Griff will be in the ground 2 years in spring. The most perfect color of red imaginable! Semi-double, cherry red, in clusters most often and a very fruity hybrid tea fragrance! No die back in our zone 6b. Absolutely no fungal issues that i have had with other Buck's.
I have only had Griff for about a month. But in that time, he has leafed out and produced eight (count them, eight) buds. I have 50+ roses in my garden from various vendors, planted throughout the growing season, and I have never seen a plant as remarkably eager to grow as Griff’s Red from Heirloom. It’s honestly a bit inspiring. The flowers are a bright true red, a little informal, but cheery. Mine don’t have much of a scent yet, but again, it’s a very young plant. Looking forward to seeing him through the seasons.
Planted a few seasons ago and added some catmint, gailardia and false sunflower! Great scent and appears to be cane hardy in zone 5b where I live.
Hardy rose for the hot Colorado sun. Blooms last a long time without wilting. The fragrance is very heady. It perfumes the whole front of
my home.
