Gorgous in Hawaii desert!

After about a year in the ground, and admittedly likely that long in the shipping pot first, out of the 6 I have - at least one is over 6'tall and absolutely covered in breathtaking blooms, the rest are nearly that tall and covered in blooms as well. The color of the flowers ranges from a neon pink to yellow depending on the age of the bloom. It is hard to describe just how beautiful these flowers are! And the fragrance is amazing too. I have experienced some bug issues so the plants are still a bit leggy, but now that the bugs are nearly gone these babies are branching out and blooming their heads off!

I live on the northwest coast of Hawaii island so weather here is 80 - 85* daytime highs, 60's for nightime lows year round and mostly sun. They have drip irrigation, but I don't overwater and this is desert area here (under 20"rain/year). We experience incredible winds, but these roses, as well as all my Heirloom roses don't seem to care at all, even when it gusts up to 70 mph! I have all my roses mulched with Heirloom mint compost and fertilize with Heirloom fish emulsion 1st year, and the Boost & Bloom after that. I amend our rocky, sandy, nasty dirt with composted manure, peat, bone meal and a good soil when planting. They seem to be thrilled with that good start because they all pay me back with luscious blooms.

To other reviewers - please post your growing location, etc. as that tells other buyers a lot about where the rose grows well or doesn't.

Heart ‘O Gold

I love this company! I have received another healthy rose that has grown an incredible amount of foliage since I received the rose one week ago! I am grateful to find a Heart ‘O Gold rose to replace one in my yard that died. Thanks again Heirloom Roses!

One of a kind BEAUTY!

I so wish I could post a picture of my "Heart of Gold" rose here. I lost it a few years back after a wicked winter. Most beautiful rose I've ever grown and I've grown my share of roses!! If there is a way to submit a picture please let me know...
Warmly,
Felicia

Heart of Gold

I bought these in October 2014 and they are indeed beautiful. Although they do have a fragrant, it is not a strong one. I will submit two photos of a single rose on coffee table.
