Since I first planted White Meidiland in 1995 she has been consistently reliable. She has gone through a number of divisions and transplantations without any loss of her robust character. She can stand harsh pruning or be left to grow to a 6’x6’ shrub. No problems with disease or insects. I live in Zone 6b.
I planted this rose on May 19, 2022. Three weeks later it has doubled in size and has 9 buds! I can’t wait to see it grow!
I am blown away by the size and staying power of these blooms! I planted my four bushes in late August and the first flush bloomed about 10 days ago and they are still looking as gorgeous as ever. There are close to 30 buds waiting to burst open for the second flush. Altogether they look incredible! The plants have spread quite a bit and are starting to cover the edge of my large planter as planned. Like another reviewer said, they are exceptionally thorny, but so very lovely. For reference I'm in zone 7, Fredericksburg, VA.
This rose needs almost no care and still thrives like a champ. However, if you have children or animals be aware of how exceptionally thorny this specific rose is.
