  • Other Details
  • Discovered in the UK, Rose de Rescht is an old-fashioned, fully double rose with 50+ petals in elegant, fuchsia-crimson coloring. She emits a deliciously wonderful fragrance. Expect her to stay compact and give a spring or summer flush with scattered blooms. We love her medium-green foliage with red edges when young as a point of interest in the garden. Rose de Rescht is shade tolerant and thrives in zones 5-10 as a truly, hardy rose!

Always blooms

I have had this rose in what began in a zone 4 climate and now a zone 5 for over 25 years, near (northern)Watertown, NY. It has been moved three time over the years, is in shade from an apple tree! And blooms off and on through my summer. Mine is about 3 feet tall and it has spread over the years. The scent is incredible, and I believe it has been used for scenting perfume in the past. Tiny, incredible scent, and lasts for a day or two in water in the house if cut at the right moment.

Tough, pretty rose

This is a favorite of mine, although the bush is very small. I was dismayed to watch a tree-trimmer's truck back directly over it last year! Amazingly, it came back strong and full of new canes this summer. The flowers are a saturated deep fuschia in my Zone 5 Michigan garden. Flowering repeat is excellent.

A hardy reliable rose that needs no care

This isn’t a particularly pretty bush but the blossoms are spectacular. And so fragrant! This is another old garden rose that you can neglect, but pruning does help it rebloom, and helps the bush look better. I have a couple of them and they are incredibly reliable and fit into smaller spaces than a lot of the old roses. It has withstood 20+ years of harsh winters in Massachusetts.

Great patio rose

It's compact enough for a pot, and is dong well in Northern California. It's blooming in a combination of sun and dappled shade on a patio, where it can be enjoyed close up. Flowers are small, but intensely colored and scented. This rose has it all!
