  • About William Baffin
  • Other Details
  • William Baffin is a vigorous, extra hardy shrub or climber. Clouds of eye-catching deep strawberry pink, semi-double blooms are touched with white toward the center that look like an artist painted a slender white line down the center of the inner petals. The entire effect is set off by his golden stamens and small red-orange hips that will appear in the winter. He blooms in large clusters throughout the season and has outstanding disease resistance. You can expect William Baffin to offer repeat blooms.

Blooms like a champion

I fell in love with Baffin roses because of one my old landlady had-- it was a gorgeous monster trying to eat her garden shed.(pic, the rose on the right.) My Baffin Rose is only a year old, but it bloomed like mad all summer. I have two other Explorer roses from HR (Cabot and Davis), and they all bloom constantly, but Baffin takes the cake on blooms.

Amazing late spring show

William Baffin is a massive explorer worth all of those thorns. Have had him for about ten years and he’s easily 14x8 with annual pruning.

Slow starter, then BAM!

After I first planted this it sort of languished for about three years. But it was pretty enough. Then this Spring it took off. Lots of flowers. Beautiful beautiful color. It’s my new favorite rose. What a color! So clear and pure.

A nonstop blooming rose for over twenty years!

Love this rose! It is in the back corner of our yard and is spectacular. Covers our six foot fence with the most beautiful display of blooms. The neighbors comment every year how it keeps going through the droughts we have been having and now hail. Wish I had room for another one. Three neighbors have bought it too????.
