In in zone 8A and this girl is thriving. She is in part sun and part shade and producing beautiful blooms!
I give these Rudbeckia a 5 given their strength to come back! They had a very rocky start due to the timing and distance of delivery. The temperature during delivery was above normal and these plants arrived looking like they would not make it. I cleaned up and cleared out as much damaged plant matter as I could and planted them. Two look like the one pictured, two look iffy but I believe they’ll make it and only one probably will not make it. Given the 90 degree temps during delivery I am very impressed with the outcome!
The Rudbeckia arrived full and in a gorgeous state. I just didn't plant it in a timely manner. I had to cut off more than 1/3 of the leaves and buds, almost to bloom, when I planted. The remaining buds bloomed 2 days later, and they are spectacular in color. The flower in the picture is 4 1/2 inches wide. Quality plant, for sure.
