  • About Green Snake®
  • Other Details
  • From Louis Lens of Belgium, Green Snake® is completely unique. He is a short and compact rose growing absolutely flat against the ground while producing single, 1 ½” blooms with just 5-7 petals. The blush pink to dusky-pink flowers bloom in either late spring or early summer and then surprise with a second flush towards the later summer months. Green Snake® will creep along your garden as a truly rustic and original rose!

Green Snake can Climb!

We have had this rose in our yard now for over 10 years. When you train it up over a trellis the profuse sprays of blooms are simply stunning. It tends to have a small second bloom later in the season. I’ve also taken cuttings and rooted them to move to other spots in the yard. It grows FAST! Really a fantastic little rose!

Wonderful rose to cover a hillside

We planted six Green Snake plants on a difficult, steep hillside in our front, south-facing yard at least seven years ago or more. They now completely fill the area and are vigorous and beautiful. The bees love them! Highly recommended.

Strange little rose

I’ve had this rose for many years but it only began blooming about two years ago. It truly has a strange habit of creeping flat on the ground. It is very hardy. Mine is in unimproved soil on a rocky slope where it doesn’t get watered and I don’t fertilize it. It gets nice flowers as shown in the photos but is so unobtrusive that you hardly notice them. I gave it a low score because it is really unimpressive and I’m usually looking for roses with that WOW factor.
