Aviv Orange produces bright orange to rust peony-shaped flowers averaging 4-5” in width on tall 12-16” stems. Expect 5-10 blooms per corm for long-lasting, gently scented blooms favored by florists for arranging. Ranunculus are deer resistant and do well in beds, borders, or pots.
Aviv Orange is sold in packs of 10.
Planting Instructions:
Plant Ranunculus in the fall for zones 8-11 for spring blooms. In zones 4-7, store the hardened corms in a cool, dark place and plant in early spring for mid-summer blooms.
-
Soak corms in room temperature water for 3-4 hours; avoid oversoaking.
-
Choose an area with full sun for planting.
-
Add compost and a balanced fertilizer to your soil.
-
Plant corms 9” apart, 2-3” deep, with tentacles facing down in the soil.
-
Water after planting and continue weekly watering to ensure the corms do not dry out for the remainder of the growing season.
