Black Pearl is bred from Papa Meilland and has a very intricate parentage with crosses from seven other rose varieties by Delbard in France. Large, perfectly formed, fully double blooms of velvety deep red are produced on a vigorous, bushy plant. Black Pearl blooms in flushes throughout the season in heavy clusters. This rose can also be grown in pots.

Blooms within a month after planting. Again amending your soil is key. Amend as directed by HLR for great success. The blooms are beautiful and dark, but not quite as dark as I expected. I am hoping the color wil deepen with time.

Looks like velvet

While this beauty has had a slower start than most of the remaining roses I've ordered (the only reason for a 4 rating) she is exquisite in both looks and fragrance. I'm excited to see what the spring holds for this stunner.

Black Pearl

Just received about 2/3 weeks ago with little to no foliage due to extreme heat/shipping conditions. So far now she's got about 2/3 buds & is filling out nicely. Can't wait to watch this baby grow. Paired well with Black Baccara & Madonna for my trifecta "black rose" section.

Impressed!

I purchased this rose because of the color and it has not disappointed. The first year it struggled and had some problems with black spot. This year, it is blooming beautifully and the blooms last forever on the plant. A beautiful, deep velvety red.

Gorgeous

These are the prettiest blooms I’ve seen. We’re in Richmond, Texas and our bush is in a container.
