First vs. Second Year

I got this rose bush for my mother for Mother's Day 2024. It did very well last year, even blooming a few buds before the summer ended! But this year, it's exploded in size and in number of roses. I have a picture of the rose bush from June of 2024 (about two months in the ground after delivery) and then all other pictures I took today, which would be about one year later. We used Heirloom Roses soil and bone meal, mint, and founders fish fertilizer. We are in zone 6 and placed a burlap sack over the rose bush for the winter and it was perfect. The candy cane coloring is so beautiful, it almost doesn't look real in person!

Very nice rose

I bought it last year and it overwintered just fine. I covered rose with straw before cold. This spring it lost first leaves due to aphids, but it recovered and started growing new leaves and putting up blooms. My rose has about 12 blooms and more are coming at this very moment. They are about 2-2.5 in in diameter but looks just as in the picture. So far so good. Love this rose! 7B Maryland

Magnificent!

I was originally hesitant to purchase this rose. I normally choose very fragrant ones. The photos looked so unusual I decides to take a chance. This is currently one of my favorite roses in the garden. The color is absolutely stunning! It is a deep red on the edges and white pink in the middle. The photos do not accurately demonstrate its beauty. I am in Gresham, OR - zone 8.
