Bred from Distant Drums, the 4" blooms of Distant Thunder are much like those of its parent with lavender/pink  flowers with hints of gold, brown, and mocha. She is extremely fragrant with a fruity, myrrh scent. Flowers are produced in profusion on this continually blooming, compact, bushy plant with foliage all the way to the ground. Expect new foliage to be a rich, reddish bronze color aging to deep olive-green with red veins and beautiful, serrated red edges.

Distant Thunder

Really starting to see it’s potential in year 2. Very complimentary color scheme if you just let the blooms age on the shrub. The blooms have rapid color shifts just like distant drums. The vivid orange of new blooms catch the eye from a distance. And the pastel pink of faded blooms softens the whole shrub. The color effect is very pleasing. I tend to favor roses for cutting, but with how floriferous this seems to be I won’t mind this shrub rose. Mine has no fragrance, but maybe that will come with plant maturity in the next few years. My favorite part is that it is such an early bloomer. Significantly earlier than all my other roses.

Arrived in perfect, beautiful shape. All green - all healthy. It's growing perfectly and even has buds already.

I needed to change me delivery date and customer service was very helpful.

Stunning

This rose is stunning. I could sit and look at it all day. Just like it's parent Distant Drums, it is glorious to behold. Highly recommend this rose!

Couldn't ask for more in a rose. It's gorgeous to behold and wonderfully fragrant to boot.
