  • About Don Juan
  • Other Details
  • Don Juan produces scores of wonderfully large, dark velvety-red, full, cupped, 4" blooms with 40+ petals. He has a wonderful tea/fruity fragrance and is easily one of the finest of the red Climbers. The dark green, glossy, leathery foliage only adds to the intrigue of this striking plant. We recommend letting him show off against a white fence for added drama. Don Juan makes an excellent cut flower.

Beautiful red

In my garden, the roses are not the stop sign color that is pictured, they are a much deeper red and very gorgeous. I think this is the third year and it has just this year started blooming and climbing. Very beautiful.

Beautiful and healthy specimen

I purchased two Don Juan Roses and was dubious as to their survival in the winters of Northern Colorado
They arrived very healthy and I did dod my best to create a spot in the clay soil here
Its been three years and Im happy to say they are throving and growing tall!

A Great Red Climber

While I don't get a ton of fragrance from this rose, it's a reliable stand-by in my garden - these roses having been planted 15 years ago. They are not as proliferous as some and I do cut them back quite a bit each year due to wind breakage over the winter and some die-back, but they perform well, have a deep red color and overall this is a very pleasing rose not prone to black spot or much bug attraction.
