  • Other Details
  • Duchesse de Nemours is an heirloom Peony introduced in 1856. Her delicate and airy white petals create 5-6” full blooms of whimsical beauty. She makes an excellent choice for bouquets as her creamy white blooms tinged with hints of green complement any arrangement and give off a gentle fragrance. This plant will reach 36” tall and blooms in late spring to early summer for gardens in zones 3-8.

Please note that Peonies may take several growing seasons to get established before they reward you with armloads of beautiful blooms.

Duchesse de Nemours is sold as one root with 3-5 eyes.

    Fall Planting Instructions:

    1. Choose an area with at least 6 hours of sunlight with soil that has good drainage.

    2. Dig a hole 12-18” deep. Mix soil with an all-purpose fertilizer. Add the amended and loosened soil back into the hole.

    3. Place Peony roots 2-3” under the soil line with eyes facing upward, and then gently pack the soil over the roots.

    4. Water well.
