  • Other Details
  • The classic-shaped blooms of Eleganza® Winter Sun are yellow with lighter outer petals that emit a gentle fragrance. Her medium to large blooms average about 3.25" in diameter and are very full with 40-50 petals, and her solitary flowers are beautiful against glossy, green foliage. We love Eleganza® Winter Sun for her high resistance to black spot.

Off to a great start

Decided against good sense to plant 3 different Heirloom roses in a late July heat wave in the Northeast. The roses arrived without leaves but looking sturdy and strong. I used all the Heirloom "Get Growing" materials at planting. Within a week they were leafing out, at about 3 weeks they were budding, and within 5 weeks I had blooms! Of the three, Winter Sun so far is the least prolific, with only 1 bloom, but it's a beauty, and otherwise the plant looks completely healthy and happy. I bought bareroot roses from other sources long ago and most of them have only limped along, making me think I couldn't grow roses. The own-root roses in soil from Heirloom are a game changer!

Gorgeous and tough rose!

Winter Sun has surprised me with the huge size of her blooms. I have had a wild blackberry trying to consume her but she showed me just how tough and resilient she truly is by standing up to that thug! She continues to grace my garden with abundant, gorgeous, healthy and plentiful blooms. Her color is that of a soft winter sun. Beautiful and tough rose! Highly recommend.
