I purchased three First Love Veronica plants from Heirloom Roses in May 2025, and they arrived in excellent condition. The plants were so generous and healthy that I was able to divide each one into two, creating a row of six Veronicas in my cottage garden. I probably could have divided them even further.
During their first season, a rabbit in my yard developed a real fondness for nibbling the young leaves, and I found myself chasing that rascally rabbit out of the garden more than once. I honestly lost hope that the plants would amount to much.
Fast forward to 2026, and First Love has come back beautifully, producing lovely pink and purple flower spikes that make me smile every time I see them. I’m so pleased with how resilient these plants turned out to be, and I’m very glad the rabbit finally decided to leave them alone this year.
