  • Fragrant Gold is a deep yellow rose with a classic, Hybrid Tea form. She is a continual bloomer with semi-double blooms against a lovely, green foliage. She has a strong fragrance and stays compact enough to thrive in pots on a patio or porch. She is a favorite of pollinators.

Not the best performer so far

This rose and I have been riding the struggle bus since day 1. First year, no blooms. Second year (2020), 3 blooms. The canes are exceedingly thin and weak; 1 bloom is enough to bend the cane to the ground. Disease free however, and oddly resistant to bug damage; an application every 4-6 weeks of a Bayer rose spray largely stopped the bugs. I'm going to stick with this rose for one more season because i do really like the color, fragrance, and form, but if the canes don't strengthen and I don't get more blooms I will throw in the towel and try another yellow. Maybe things will turn around this year; my fingers are crossed. I'll probably post a second review this Fall.
