Bought this vigorous plant late spring of 2022. It’s a stingy bloomer- but it survived a bad a bad winter ; heat wave this summer. I will care for it more this time.We are zone 6B
Very pretty. I did a major pruning on it this year as it wanted to grow long and tall. We're in the Pacific Northwest and it seems to like our area. We'll see how it does this year with the major pruning but the flower is gorgeous.
In live in Ontario Canada and received this rose from my grandmother who received it from her father. It was purchased over 100 years ago and this year was an outstanding year for it. I plan on giving this beautiful rose bush to my son or granddaughter some day.
Frau Karl Druschki is definitely one of the best old roses. My great aunt purchased this rose in the spring of 1944. 72 years later this rose is still going strong. We have moved it twice, and thought this past winter was the last. The blooms this spring have been outstanding.
We live in hardiness zone 6b, and have had a few rough winters. I usually cut Frau Karl Druschki about knee high in December and mound mulch 4". In March or April I pull the mulch away. I have had up to 49 roses at one time, but only Frau Karl Druschki has remained throughout.
