Gorgeous Color, Fantastic Foliage and Great for Pots!

I live at an altitude of 7500 feet in Colorado, which for me is between zone 4-5. Great Expectations is a gorgeous rose, which I purchased in spring 2017. The flowers have a blend of blush, to cream to deep coral, which is just sublime. After carefully planting my rose and waiting excitedly for all the nice big buds to open, I came out one morning and the deer had eaten them all. So I dug it up and replanted it in a large, tall, deep pot on my deck (which the deer can't reach). It wintered over very well, though it started off a bit slow this spring. I've fed it with Miracle Gro about every 2-3 weeks, and sprayed for bugs, just in case, and it has really taken off and filled out. I've gotten lovely, semi-continuous blooms all summer (once all the buds have flowered, I have to wait about 2 weeks or so before it develops new buds.) The foliage is beautiful too, a dark, rich, glossy green. The canes have some thorns, but they're spaced fairly far apart, and aren't a problem. Two new canes have shot up in the past 2 weeks, and I have lots of new buds developing-- I can't wait! I'm giving this rose 4 out of 5 stars because it was touted as being highly fragrant -- mine has a very mild scent -- and also because of the "down time" between blooms. But the color of the blooms and the healthy, beautiful foliage make this an outstanding rose, and I highly recommend it!

Glorious Color

I love the color of this rose, which starts off dark apricot, and as it becomes fuller the edges turn a delicate blush color, which sets off the darker centers. The foliage is absolutely beautiful, glossy green. It's the first summer for this rose, which was chewed down by deer just as the full buds were about to open. I despaired, but was surprised when new growth quickly produced more buds.
