- About Italian Oregano
Italian Oregano is a hardy perennial herb that produces an abundance of fragrant, light-green, rounded leaves. In early summer, it is topped with spikes of tiny white flowers. This easy-to-grow plant thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, forming an attractive, clumping mound of trailing branches. It is adaptable and can be planted at the edge of your herb garden, in the front of a border, or in a container. To encourage bushy growth, pinch it back before flowering begins. Italian Oregano is an essential plant for every herb garden or Mediterranean border, producing an abundance of fragrant foliage that can be used to flavor a great number of dishes. In climates with heavy summer rainfall, plant in very well-draining soil to maintain the best flavor and longevity of the plant. Don't be afraid to cut the plant back if it starts getting a little leggy.
Size Information: This plant comes in a one gallon pot.
