I've had 5 different shrubs of this variety in pots over the last 4 years that are still with me and I cannot say enough about them. Coupled with rose tone fertilizer makes this a sure winner. I can't help but smile every morning, as I sit out on my deck and sip my coffee admiring my roses.
Blooms are a beautiful true bright glowing cherry red- about 4” across and are semi double. In springtime temps (60-70 degrees here in SE Texas) have a velvety look to blossoms. Color fades to a hot pink after 3 days in the hot Texas sun. Strong spicy ( reminds me of cinnamon ) scent. Very full and lush foliage - makes a beautiful flowering landscape shrub - would make a great hedge.
This is one of my garden favorites.
I live in zone 4 with occasional cold snaps of -40 degrees. The rose did not survive the winter. I wish the description of the rose contained an information about this plant's hardiness.
