Bred by the famous French rose breeders, Moreau-Robert, and named to honor our president upon his death in 1865, Souvenir du Président Lincoln produces beautiful, fully double, old-fashioned blooms of 80+ petals with a powerful perfume to rival that of Mme Isaac Pereire. His coloring is a lovely, crimson pink with darker shading. This vigorous, upright bush with greyish-green, matte foliage is a repeat-bloomer.

Florida heat hasn’t killed it!!

I was really skeptical but the plant arrived and after allowing it to acclimate in a shaded area, I planted it in full sun. It seems to be thriving!! Leafing out and with some extra watering (we are in a dry period-unusual for Florida in the summer) growth seems very hopeful!! I’m impressed. Can’t wait for blooms!!

Exceptional condition, growth, and scent

East Coast 7a, experienced rosarian. Received my Souv. Linc. exactly one month ago and immediately got him re-hydrated and planted in a sheltered location with almost full sun until about 3pm; other than that, haven't fussed over him at all. One month later... he's doubled in size and I have my first bloom! Absolutely heavenly deeply complex rose fragrance, lovely form and depth of color. I'm about to hit all my roses with some Heirloom Founder's Fish Fertilizer, so I can't wait to see what Souv. Linc. delivers in the next year. Heirloom, you've earned my loyalty and then some!

Wonderful fragrance

This is one of the few once-blooming roses I keep - the flowers are fat and gorgeous (pictures here are accurate) and the fragrance is incredible. It gets ginormous fast. If it were a continual bloomer I would give it 5 stars.

So fragrant.

I discovered to my dismay that there are roses who's scent I cannot discern. Thankfully this rose is not one of them! I planted this rose early this spring and it has already put out huge blossoms with heads so heavy the new stems can barely hold them up. I've brought the blooms indoors to relive the plant and the scent is incredible. The color is a unique pink with purple depth. I love this rose.

Own root roses are the only way to go

I have been growing roses for 40 plus years and believe that own root roses are the best type of roses to grow for a number of reasons. In the case of SPL, this particular rose is very healthy, beautiful, and fragrant. Its blooms are a rich pink, with lots of depth. It grows large, but this is typical for OGRs. Heirloom is a great nursery to buy from too. They always have healthy plants and communicate well with their customers.
